Artists Plan Mural Project

Earlier this year, the Friendship Heart Studio was offered an opportunity to create a mural on the side of Rachel's Cafe and Creperie. Located at 201 W. Walnut St., Lancaster, this bright yellow building will now be the home of the studio's second mural project. Beginning in September, Friendship Heart Artists and local partnered artists will begin a "Springtime in Paris" inspired design created by seven Heart Artists. The Heart Artists' first mural project took place in September 2021, when some of the Heart Artists collaborated with local artists and Lancaster resident Colin Morrel in creating a work of art titled "The Garden" on the 300 block of North Mary Street in Lancaster city.

Anyone who would like to support the current mural project financially or through volunteering may contact Crystal Freund, Day Services coordinator, at cfreund@friendshipcommunity.net or 717-656-2466. For updates and more information on the project, visit http://www.friendshipart.net/mural.

Friendship Heart Gallery and Studio is a faith-based, nonprofit gallery and state-licensed studio formed in 2007 to cultivate capabilities of individuals with intellectual disability and autism. The organization serves more than 50 individuals in the Lancaster and surrounding areas.
