Arts Smarts camps planned

Arts Smarts camps will be offered through The Arts at Millersville University at the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince St., Lancaster. The sessions will take place from Monday to Friday, June 19 to 23, and Monday to Friday, June 26 to 30.

The Arts at Millersville University will present six camps, with a capacity of 12 campers each, per week, with both morning and afternoon sessions in music, theater, or visual arts. The camps are designed especially for kids of all abilities in two age ranges: kindergarten through grade two and grades three through five. Each camp is different, and morning and afternoon options are available for both age ranges and in all three disciplines. Students can register for morning sessions from 9 a.m. to noon, afternoon sessions from 1 to 4 p.m., or both.

The staff consists of professional teaching artists and Millersville University arts education students who have full clearances for working with children. The teaching artists are Jessica Burdett and Briana Shyver for music, Dylan Kranch and Kellie Turner for theater, and Bethany Miller and Blake Showers for visual arts.

There is a fee. Full and partial scholarships are offered, and interested individuals may email Barry Kornhauser at Barry.Kornhauser@millersville.edu.

To register, visit http://www.ArtsMU.com. Scholarship recipients will register for the camps through Kornhauser.
