ASPIE to host holiday open house

ASPIE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating supplemental income for adult artisans with disabilities. The organization serves a wide range of those who have disabilities such as autism, Asperger syndrome, traumatic brain injuries, dystonia, cerebral palsy and other disabilities, and have creative talent and skills.

ASPIE helps these artisans generate income through donations for their original artwork using ASPIE Gallery online at http://www.aspiesartists.com, and a Lancaster gallery, located at 1905 Barton Drive, Lancaster.

A holiday open house will be held at the gallery on Friday, Dec. 1, from 4 to 8 p.m.; on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 3, from noon to 6 p.m.

The work of artists Jesse Buckwalter, Jon Whitlock, Dorrin Gingerich, JP Henry, Kate Manners, Steven Georges, and others will be displayed. Featured will be paintings, photographic prints, metal sculptures, jewelry, wooden toys, crafts, figurines, and more.

Donors are the very heart of ASPIE, making it possible to help artists with disabilities show their work and grow more independent. The ASPIE artists love their work, but they also love interacting with the people. The community is welcome to stop by during open house weekend to see the collection of artwork and pick up some items for the holiday.
