Assistive Listening Device Donated To Library

The Manheim Sertoma Club recently donated a portable Infoloop to the Middletown Public Library. This device is a completely self-contained, one-on-one induction loop assistive listening system that is compatible with all telecoil-equipped hearing aids, cochlear implants and induction loop receivers. A telecoil, or t-coil, is a small copper coil in a hearing aid that functions as a wireless antenna and links to a sound system like the Infoloop, delivering customized sound to the hearing aid wearer.

Last year, the Manheim Sertoma Club donated these devices to area doctor's offices, and this year, the club is donating them to libraries. The Infoloop at the Middletown Public Library can be used at the front desk to help patrons interact with library staff members and volunteers, and it can also be used at library programs.
