Local residents were among those selected for USA Field Hockey's 2021 Young Men's and Women's National Championship, held concurrently at the Virginia Beach Regional Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va., from June 15 to 20. The tournaments featured the top players in the country in their respective age groups competing to be crowned national champions.

Local athletes selected for the teams were Jillian Wolgemuth of Mount Joy, Brave team; Virginia Bramley of Elizabethtown, Courage team; Brooke DeBerdine of Millersville, Courage team; Jenny Rizzo of Hershey, Courage team; Emma DeBerdine of Millersville, Dream team; Mary Harkins of Kimberton, Freedom team; Kelly Smith of Downingtown, Honor team; Sofia Pendolino of Hummelstown, Patriots team; Madeleine Zimmer of Hershey, Pride team; and Paige Bitting of Hummelstown, Unity team.
