Gawthrop Greenwood attorney Lauren A. Nehra has been elected to the board of directors of the Chester County Food Bank, a hunger relief organization in Chester County that serves more than 160 partner agencies and distributes nearly 3.5 million pounds of food to those in need throughout the county.

Nehra is a member of Gawthrop Greenwood's Litigation Department, where she is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and Delaware and specializes in matters including general civil litigation, guardianships and breaches of fiduciary duties. Nehra has lived in Chester County for more than a decade and has personally observed food insecurity across the county's diverse communities.

Gawthrop Greenwood, which is headquartered in West Chester and has been operating in Chester County since its founding in 1904, upholds a tradition of giving back to its community, as well as supporting and becoming involved in more than 30 organizations that are valued by its clients and friends.

Named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2022 and 2023, a designation given to only 2.5% of lawyers in a state, Nehra has been recognized as a Top Lawyer by Main Line Today. She joined Gawthrop Greenwood in 2021 after working in private practice at a civil litigation law firm where she focused on civil rights defense, employment law and general civil litigation. Prior to that, Nehra clerked with the Delaware Attorney General's Office, where she worked in both the Criminal and Family Divisions, and was employed as a paralegal and law clerk with a civil defense firm in Wilmington, Del.

Nehra earned her law degree from Widener University Delaware Law School, from which she graduated magna cum laude. She presently serves as the secretary/treasurer of the Young Lawyers' Division of the Chester County Bar Association and is a member of the Delaware State Bar Association and Pennsylvania Bar Association. Nehra volunteers with The Garage Youth Center in Kennett Square and is active in the local chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
