For more than 100 years, the Marietta Community House has served as a hub for organizations, special events and community programs. The nonprofit will hold a fundraiser to support its mission, and you're invited.

A Spring Evening in Marietta Benefit Auction will be held in the rear studio of the Marietta Community House, 264 W. Market St., Marietta, on Saturday, April 27, from 5:30 to 10 p.m.

The evening will begin with a cocktail hour and appetizers as guests enjoy live music by Leo DiSanto and peruse items available in a silent auction. The event will also feature a sit-down dinner followed by a live auction.

"We are working with Joe Hess, Cracked Pepper Catering from Lancaster," said Audrey Kushner Pombo, auction chair and treasurer of the Marietta Community House, noting that the menu will include salad, roasted chicken breast and seasonal sides, with a vegan/vegetarian option available as well. "Desserts will be an assortment of different sweet treats provided by Kristen's Katering in Columbia."

Auction items will include photography sessions; a round of golf for four people; tickets to local theaters, restaurants and attractions; and stays at local Airbnbs. "We will have unique artwork from local artists as well as vintage Marietta items," Kushner Pombo said, adding that there will be giveaways for various baskets, including a champagne-themed basket and a Bloody Mary basket. "Plus, we have a wine pull, cheese pull and table arrangement pull where you can purchase a ticket for the items."

This is the fifth year for the event, and proceeds will support ongoing maintenance projects at the property as well as the organization's Children's Fair and annual Veterans Day celebration.

Kushner Pombo encourages people to come out to support the Marietta Community House. "It's truly a great evening of community camaraderie, mingling with neighbors and friends during a lovely dinner and a competition of live auction items," she said.
