Audubon Society Sets Schedule

The Quittapahilla Audubon Society (QAS) has posted its schedule.

On Wednesday, Oct. 26, Rita Stima will present the program "Birding in the Lebanon Valley" at 7 p.m. The program will be held at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 723 Lehman St., Lebanon, near Monument Park. The society will not hold its programs at the former Annville location.

Stima grew up in Lebanon County. She has been birding since 2011 and reporting findings to eBird since 2014. She is a supporting member of the Quittapahilla Audubon Society, PSO, ABA, Second Mt. Hawk Watch, and Cornell Lab of Ornithology. She is also a member of Middle Creek Wildlife Photographers and the Lebanon Valley Council on the Arts. In addition to being a birder, Stima is a swimmer and watercolor artist whose work is inspired by her time spent outdoors birding.

QAS programs are suitable for people of all ages and are open to the public with no registration or fee required. The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church has a well-lit parking lot with ample parking behind the church off Spruce Street. Attendees should enter the church from the parking lot entrance.

On Sunday, Nov. 6, there will be a trip to State Game Lands 145 for the observation of local birds. The trip is open to the public, with no cost and no registration required. Those who plan to attend should meet at 9 a.m. at the Colebrook Lebanon Valley Rail Trail trailhead parking lot. Leader Jim Fiorentino may be contacted at 717-269-0675.
