Author talk, book launch scheduled

Three mystery writers from Kensington Press - Lynn Cahoon, Vicki Delany and Alex Erickson - will be on hand at Aaron's Books, 35 E. Main St., Lititz, on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. The program will include a discussion and book signing, along with tea and light refreshments

Cahoon is an award-winning author of cozy mysteries, including the "Kitchen Witch Mysteries," the "Cat Latimer Mystery" series, the "Tourist Trap Mysteries," the "Farm-to-Fork" series, the "Survivors' Book Club Mystery" series and "The Bainbridge Island Mysteries." She is a member of Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America and International Thriller Writers, and her books have sold more than a million copies. Originally from Idaho, she grew up living the small-town life she now loves to feature in her novels. She now lives in a small historic town in eastern Tennessee. Delany is one of Canada's most prolific and varied crime writers and is also well-known in the United States. She is currently writing four cozy mystery series: the "Tea by the Sea" mysteries, the "Sherlock Holmes Bookshop" series, the "Year-Round Christmas Mysteries" and, as Eva Gates, the "Lighthouse Library" series. A past president of the Crime Writers of Canada and a co-organizer of Women Killing It, a crime writing festival, she has been nominated for the Derringer, the Bony Blithe, the Ontario Library Association Golden Oak and the Arthur Ellis Awards. She is the recipient of the 2019 Derrick Murdoch Award for contributions to Canadian crime writing. Delany lives and writes in Prince Edward County, Ontario. In addition, Aaron's Books and author A.S. King will host the launch of King's latest young adult (YA) novel, "Pick the Lock," on Sunday, Sept. 22, at the Lititz Shirt Factory, 5 Juniper Lane, Lititz. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m., and the program will start at 3 p.m. The celebration will feature a reading from the new book, a question-and-answer session and an author signing.

"Pick the Lock" is a surrealist work that follows one teen's bizarre and brilliant journey to reconnect with her mother by breaking her out of her shell and composing a punk opera.

King is a two-time winner of the American Library Association (ALA) Michael L. Printz Award for teen literature. She has also received the ALA's Margaret A. Edwards Award, the ALAN Award from the National Council of Teachers of English, the L.A. Times Book Award and numerous other honors. Her novels include "Dig," "Still Life with Tornado," "I Crawl Through It," "The Dust of 100 Dogs" and "Please Ignore Vera Dietz."

In addition to YA works, she writes books for middle grade readers under her full name, Amy Sarig King, including "Me and Marvin Gardens," "The Year We Fell from Space" and "Attack of the Black Rectangles." King lives in Lancaster County.
