Author To Be Featured At Event

Eucabeth Odhiambo will be a featured author at the Gifts That Give Hope event on Sunday, Dec. 11, at the Farm and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Her book, "She Persisted: Wangari Maathai," tells the story of Wangari Maathai, who in 2004 became the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize. "She Persisted: Wangari Maathai" is part of the "She Persisted" children's chapter book series created by Chelsea Clinton.

Amid resistance, Maathai planted millions of trees that changed the landscape of Kenya and the world. She founded the Green Belt Movement and mobilized friends, family, and even strangers to help her plant trees and respect the environment.

Copies of Odhiambo's books will be available for purchase and signing. For more on her work and books, visit http://www.bethriwa.com.
