Author to speak at meeting

The Central Pennsylvania World War II Roundtable will meet on Thursday, June 6, at 7 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 433 E. Main St., Hummelstown. The program will also be livestreamed on the group's YouTube channel, "Central Pennsylvania World War II Roundtable."

Steve Snyder, author of "Shot Down," will share the story of his father's World War II experiences as a pilot of a B-17. A graduate of University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Snyder spent nearly five years researching his father's service with the 306th Bomb Group, part of the 8th Air Force. His book chronicles the bombing missions of the Susan Ruth, her ill-fated final flight, and each crew member's tale of survival.

The meeting is open to the public, and no registration is required. Additional information can be found at http://www.centralpaww2roundtable.org.
