Authors to present marketing seminar

Authors Mary Walsh of Mechanicsburg and Bruce E. Mowday of West Chester will offer a two-hour seminar on book marketing. The workshop is titled "You Wrote a Book ... Now What?" and will take place on Sunday, Feb. 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Reology Studio, 315 W. James Street No. 105, Lancaster.

With more than 25 years of combined experience, Walsh and Mowday will share their knowledge of marketing books in the independent and traditional marketing worlds. Topics will include when a book is ready to be published, how to identify one's best salesperson, personal appearances, making the most of one's marketing budget, how to build a following, marketing strategies, identifying one's audience, self-publishing and the realities of being an author. Mowday noted that he and Walsh hope to speak with each attendee about his or her strategy.

The majority of Walsh's books are fiction, and the majority of Mowday's books are nonfiction. Mowday has published more than 25 books and in December had 13 books ranked in the top 2% of all books listed on Amazon. Two publishers have asked him to write books sharing marketing tips for authors.

There is a fee to attend. To preregister, visit http://bit.ly/BookMarketingWorkshop. Seating is limited. Light refreshments will be served. Parking at the event is free, and attendees should look for Reology's main entrance off Mulberry Street.
