This year's Elizabethtown Fair will include the baby photo contest and the 25th annual pet photo contest. For both contests, photos will be displayed at the fair throughout fair week, and attendees may vote on them. One cent will equal one vote, and all forms of U.S. money are acceptable. The three entries with the most votes in each contest will win.

Children age 2 or younger are eligible for the baby photo contest. Entries are due by noon on Saturday, Aug. 21. Photographs may be dropped off at the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, daily between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. or by arrangement by contacting Joyce Hardman at 717-367-0119. Photos will be accepted in the fair office between 9 a.m. and noon on Aug. 21.

Although any 5-by-7-inch or 8-by-10-inch photos are acceptable, vertical 8-by-10-inch photos are recommended. Photocopies will be accepted. The parent's and child's names, address and phone number should be included on the back of the photo.

At the fair, winners will be announced at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28. Organizers recommend that photos be picked up that evening in the fair office following the announcement of winners. Any photos not picked up at this time will be available for pickup at the GEARS Community Center. All photos must be claimed by Friday, Sept. 10.

Proceeds from the contest will benefit the GEARS Community Center and the Elizabethtown Fair. For more details, call Hardman.

All pets are eligible for the pet photo contest. The deadline for entry is Aug. 21. Photos may be dropped off at Waggin' Wheels Pet Supply, 709 Cloverleaf Road, Elizabethtown, on Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Photos may be submitted at the fair office on Aug. 21 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Photos must be 5-by-7 inches or 8-by-10 inches; the latter size is recommended. More than one photo of the same pet may be submitted, but all photos must together fit in an 8-by-10-inch space. They may be cut, stapled or taped. The owner's name, address and phone number, as well as the pet's breed and name, must appear on the back of the photos. Entries are limited to two per family.

The three winners will receive gift certificates donated by Waggin' Wheels.

Organizers recommend that photos be picked up by Aug. 28 at the pet photo display following the announcement of winners. Any photos not claimed at this time will be available for pickup at Waggin' Wheels Pet Supply. All photos must be claimed by Sept. 10.
