Barbershop Quartet To Sing At Library

On Thursday, Nov. 18, at 6:30 p.m., the Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Road, will host a concert featuring 3 Dads and a Lad in the community room.

Since 2001, 3 Dads and a Lad has been performing classic barbershop tunes, '50s and '60s doo-wop, and patriotic anthems. Group members are lead Paul Stober, baritone Dwight Hershberger, tenor Jerry Schwebel, and bass Shaun Ressler.

Stober is a Lititz native and Millersville University graduate who began singing barbershop in 1994. Hershberger began life on a farm near Kansas City, Mo. His love of barbershop has led him to join a number of quartets over the years. Schwebel, who grew up in Millersville, comes by his singing talent naturally. His father sang with the Lancaster Red Rose Chorus, and his mother with the Red Rose City Sweet Adelines. Schwebel joined his father in the Red Rose Chorus, and he has sung with a number of area groups. Ressler, a recent Millersville University graduate, joined the group in 2012.

Fans of the Lancaster Barnstormers may be familiar with 3 Dads and a Lad as the group has performed at the team's stadium, including a stint serenading fans as they entered the ballpark. The group also sang the national anthem during a championship series.

The concert is free and open to the public; however, space is limited and registration is required. Readers may register by calling 717-626-2255 or visiting http://www.lititzlibrary.org. Audience members will be required to wear masks during the concert.
