Bear Creek students take part in Stringfest

Eleven students from the Bear Creek School's orchestra program showcased their musical abilities at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 7 Stringfest, held on April 27 at Central Dauphin Middle School. Led by Dalinda Bohr, orchestra director for the Central Dauphin School District, the Bear Creek students participated in an ensemble of more than 100 young musicians from 19 schools across central Pennsylvania.

Under Bohr's direction, the Bear Creek students performed with the Allegro ensemble, a collective composed mostly of fifth- and sixth-grade string students. The collaborative effort not only highlighted the individual talents of the Bear Creek students but also demonstrated their ability to work harmoniously within a larger musical community.

The participating students from Bear Creek School included Marcella Steele, violin; Norah Poterjoy, violin; Kate Miner, violin; Katie Moore, violin; Elijah Heilman, violin; Cole Roberts, viola; Noelle Capitani, cello; Graysen Gulden, cello; Alyson Ebersole, cello; Lily Kuipers, string bass; and Declan Clark, string bass.
