Beethoven Concert Series To Conclude

The Arts at Millersville University will present a concert by pianist Xun Pan as the multi-season series Beethoven's 250th Birthday Celebration draws to a close. "Three Sonatas From Three Periods" will take place on Friday, Sept. 24, at 7:30 p.m. at Steinman Hall in the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince St., Lancaster. There is a ticket fee, and there are special rates for students.

Because the year 2020 marked the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth, Pan, Millersville University's Tell School of Music director of keyboard studies, commemorated the composer's legacy by presenting a concert series performance of all 32 of the composer's piano sonatas, 10 piano and violin sonatas, five piano and cello sonatas, and three variations. Pan, in partnership with violinist Simon Maurer and cellist Emilio Colón, has nearly completed the performance of all 50 works over several years, both locally and internationally.
