Berks Book Bonanza Scheduled

The Berks Book Bonanza will be held from Wednesday to Sunday, July 8 to 12, at the County of Berks South Campus location, 400 E. Wyomissing Ave., Mohnton.

A long-standing fundraiser in Berks County, the Berks Book Bonanza is one of the largest book sale operations in the area, offering gently used books, DVDs, CDs, vinyl records, puzzles, and other items at nominal prices for general items. Specialty materials and collectible books are priced as marked. The sale raised $80,000 in 2025, double what the 2024 mini-sale brought in. This year, organizers are hoping to capitalize on last year's success with additional inventory collected from the fall of 2025 and spring of 2026.

The sale will be open on July 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a fee; no admission fee will be charged on the remaining days. Hours on Thursday, July 9; Friday, July 10; and Saturday, July 11, will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 12, offering a bag sale. Volunteers will restock items throughout the five days of the sale.

A holding area will be available on July 8. No carts will be permitted inside the building, but volunteers will be on hand to assist in transporting large orders.

Payments must be made by cash or check only, and no on-site ATMs will be available. Identification will be required for all purchases by check.

The sale entrance is located behind the building by the covered ramp.

The book sale fundraiser benefits two local organizations: the Friends of Berks County Public Libraries and the Reading Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). All sale materials are donated by Berks County residents with proceeds supporting area libraries and providing scholarships to women.
