Blue Star Moms Post Scavenger Hunt

The Red Rose Blue Star Moms, PA 202 will host a Scavenger Hunt Adventure at the Lancaster Cemetery, 205 E. Lemon St., Lancaster, on Saturday, June 26, at 1 p.m. Attendees will form teams of two to five people, solve puzzles, and learn the history of some of Lancaster County's most famous residents. Participants will be walking on grass, so they should wear good walking shoes or sneakers. Team photo opportunities will be available once a team completes its scavenger hunt.

Tickets may be purchased at http://redrosebluestarmoms.ticketleap.com/cemeteryadventure. Space is limited. Teams will receive a drawstring bag, a clipboard, water, and other goodies.

All proceeds will benefit the Red Rose Blue Star Moms, which supports local military families and service members and remembers fallen heroes. Proceeds from the fundraiser will allow the Red Rose Blue Star Moms to begin to repair, restore, and replace many of the damaged or fallen headstones of veterans buried in the Lancaster Cemetery. For the past two years, the Red Rose Blue Star Moms group has been working to identify and honor each U.S. veteran buried in this cemetery. So far, the group has identified more than 1,200 U.S. veterans, 18 of whom are from the Revolutionary War.

Blue Star Moms are mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, foster mothers, and female legal guardians who have children serving in the military, National Guard, or reserves or who have children who are veterans.
