Borough updates sports facilities at park

New Holland Borough has announced the opening of its newly installed pickleball courts and the reconstruction of two tennis courts at Community Memorial Park. Borough manager Dick Fulcher estimated that the total cost of the project was more than $265,000; $125,000 of these funds were provided by the state's Commonwealth Financing Authority through the support of state Rep. Keith Greiner and state Sen. Ryan Aument. A local group of pickleball players also raised $11,200 for the project.

The borough's Streets, Parks, Maintenance Department oversaw the project, completing many non-contract tasks. Fulcher noted that the remaining work is mostly exterior, and final landscaping will take place through the fall.
