Brennan to join Chester County Hall of Fame

Patti Brennan, chief executive officer of Key Financial Inc., will be inducted into the Chester County Hall of Fame by the Chester County Economic Development Council (CCEDC) on Wednesday, May 17, at the Phoenixville Foundry, 2 N. Main St., Phoenixville. During the event, which attracts more than 400 business leaders, Brennan will be honored for her more than 30 years of service to thousands of local businesses and individuals.

Brennan grew up in Newtown Square and has lived in Chester County for almost 35 years since graduating from Georgetown University with a degree in nursing. After working in oncology and as an ICU nurse, she decided to pursue her passion for financial planning. While still taking nursing shifts on weekends, she started spending her weekdays in her new career in Center City.

Brennan started Key Financial in 1990 with a part-time employee who worked from a converted laundry room off the Brennan kitchen. At the time, Brennan was also raising four children.

Today, Key Financial has grown to 30 employees and occupies 12,000 square feet of space in West Chester. The financial planning and wealth management firm manages a portfolio of almost $2 billion with a client retention rate of 99%. Brennan is consistently ranked as one of America's top financial advisers by Forbes, Barron's, Fortune and the Financial Times. She has also commentated for the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Businessweek, Worth and Kiplinger's.

Brennan has been a keynote speaker at CCEDC's annual Economic Outlook every year for the past 17 years. She has also been a commentator on CNBC and the keynote at Forbes Magazine's Top Advisor Summit.

Brennan has served her community on boards and committees of various nonprofit organizations. She is a winner of the March of Dimes Chester County Women of Achievement Award and was chosen as a Power Woman to Watch by Main Line Today magazine.
