Lamar Buckwalter received a national TA/Citation Driver of the Year award from the TA/Petro truck stop. The award was presented on March 31 at the 10th annual award ceremony during the Mid American Truck Show in Louisville, Ky.

The award included a cash prize, which Buckwalter shared with Lincoln Fire Company of Ephrata in June. Buckwalter is a volunteer firefighter/EMT with Lincoln Fire Company.

In addition, in late August, the Petro truck stop in Carlisle will be named after Buckwalter. At this location, a bronze plaque will display Buckwalter's picture and a description of his achievements.
