Buford Receives Leadership Award

Keystone Human Services (KHS) recently honored Jeanine Buford with the Dr. Joseph Adlestein Professional Leadership Award at its 50th annual meeting. This award is given annually to someone in a professional role who is a powerful advocate for people with a disability, supporting them to be valued and fully participating members of society.

Buford spent 28 years of her career with KHS. Over the years, she built a team of IT professionals in database design and management, infrastructure, user support, enterprise application, web development, and security. She made sure the IT Department, as well as Property Management, were grounded in the KHS mission and vision, always prioritizing accessibility and the needs of the people who choose KHS for services.

In addition to developing a robust IT Department and managing Property Management, Buford led the development of the new communications team and set the standard for communicating about KHS and disability policy while promoting platforms for people with disabilities to tell their own stories.
