CAP color guard participates in ceremony

Teenage cadets from the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) presented the colors for the dedication of the Manheim-Area Veterans Memorial on Veterans Day in Manheim.

The color guard from Jesse Jones Composite Squadron 304 did the honors for Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5956 in Manheim at the Veterans Memorial Park. The guard consisted of Cadet 1st Lt. Slater Shannon, Cadet Master Sgts. Lucyann Draeger and Bruce Gentry, and Cadet Airman 1st Class Thaddeus Lippincott.

The new memorial includes flags representing the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines and Space Force.

Jesse Jones Squadron 304 meets at 7 p.m. each Monday except holidays in the Venture Jets hangar, which is located at the Lancaster Airport near the intersection of Lititz Pike and Millport Road. Visitors are welcome.
