The East Prospect Community Car Show took place on July 1 at the baseball outfield next to the park. The event featured more vehicles than the inaugural show, held last year.

The winners included Peggy Sue Jacobs in the stock class with a 1987 Oldsmobile 442 and Todd Lau in the modified class with a 1970 Chevy C-10. Best of Show went to Ron Shue for his 1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler.

Fund raising profits will be used for upcoming community events.

Those who played a role in making the show possible include the event's many volunteers; sponsor Gillespie's Transmission Shop in East Prospect; the Playground Association, which gave permission to use the ballfield to display the vehicles; and East Prospect Borough, which assisted with coordinating the event.

Plans are already in the works to continue growing the show next year with more classes, trophies, auto product vendors and activities throughout the day for entrants and spectators. More details will be made available by March 2024 and can be found by checking the East Prospect Facebook page.
