CATRA Seeks Volunteers

Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association (CATRA) is seeking adult and youth volunteers to help with its summer therapeutic horseback riding sessions, animal care and other tasks. Volunteers with horse experience are appreciated, but experience is not required to assist with lessons.

In addition to assisting with therapeutic riding lessons and feeding and caring for CATRA's therapeutic animals, volunteers are also needed to help with grounds and garden care, plan events and fundraisers and assist with administrative work.

CATRA has also scheduled an optional volunteer training session on Monday, Aug. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the CATRA farm, 168 Station Road, Grantville. Both new and current volunteers are welcome to attend the session.

CATRA welcomes volunteers of all ages. All volunteers under age 18 must have a parent or guardian's permission, and volunteers under age 13 must be supervised by a parent or guardian.

Volunteers should wear clothes appropriate for farm work and must wear closed-toed shoes or boots.
