CCWS To Host Picnic, Silent Auction

Chester County Women's Services (CCWS) will hold a free, community-wide summer picnic and silent auction on Saturday, Aug. 14, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Cowan Park at Gateway Church, 160 Cowan Road, Parkesburg.

The first-time event will feature food trucks and other items for purchase, as well as yard games, children's activities, live music and a silent auction. Registration is recommended, but not required.

The silent auction will open one week prior to the picnic on Saturday, Aug. 7, at 9 a.m. The auction will feature more than 70 baskets to bid on all by using a smartphone. Baskets include vacation packages, tickets to local attractions and gifts that support many local small businesses. The auction will close on Aug. 14 at 8:30 p.m. at the picnic. Silent auction participants must download the Handbid app from their smartphone's app store to participate.
