The Columbia Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) recently announced the recipients of its business grants for 2024. Six Columbia businesses were awarded grants ranging in amount from $500 to $750 each. The grants are a continuation of CEDC's commitment to actively promote community development and business expansion within the Borough of Columbia.

The recipients and their projects are Thrivent Financial, 470 Locust St., $500 for facade improvements; Kyper Insurance Group, 465 Locust St., $500 for facade improvements; Columbia Historic Preservation Society, 21 N. Second St., $750 for facade improvements; State Theater Vintage Emporium, 421 Locust St., $750 for large outdoor banner; Pennsylvania Furniture Mission, 341 Chestnut St. - Unit 102, $750 for outdoor banner and signs; and Susquehanna Glass Company, 731 Avenue H, $750 for digital marketing audit.

CEDC will accept business grant applications for 2025 from Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, to Monday, June 30. Applications can be completed and emailed to ColumbiaEDCorp@gmail.org/grants. The information needed includes the company's 2023 tax return and business license.
