Celebrate E-Town With Stickers

Everything old is new again. That's what the organizers of LIV-ETown discovered recently when they realized the growing popularity of collecting stickers. "Growing up in the '80s and remembering how we all had sticker books that we loved, we thought of introducing something new and fun for the kids, while bringing back nostalgia of the past for the adults," said Tony Gibble, co-owner of The Tatted Toy Guys and The Candy Unicornium in Elizabethtown. "We are constantly thinking of new and fun ways to make downtown events more interactive for adults and children. We have noticed in our stores that stickers bridge the gap between the young and young at heart." With that in mind, LIV-ETown created "My Town, E-Town Sticker Book," encouraging the community to visit Elizabethtown and collect stickers.

Sticker books will be available to purchase at The Tatted Toy Guys, 50 S. Market St., and Charlamay's Trinkets and Treasures, 45 S. Market St. "All proceeds of the sticker books go toward funding LIV-ETown's community events," explained Abby Huber, owner of Charlamay's Trinkets and Treasures and one of the organizers of LIV-ETown. "You will then bring your book to each LIV-ETown event to collect a free custom sticker for that event, and some events will have multiple stickers. E-town 2nd Fridays will also have a sticker."

As Tony stated, the organizers hope to offer a yearly edition of the sticker book to serve as a memory book for the activities participants enjoyed throughout the year. "The idea of this book is also not to be just inclusive of LIV-ETown events, but something all businesses and organizations can participate in with stickers for their own events," he said. "It could be a sticker to celebrate store anniversaries, a teeth cleaning at a dentist office and so on. My Town, E-Town Sticker Book has potential to be expanded in so many ways."

The sticker book will be officially released on Friday, April 1, in Market Square from 4 to 7 p.m. The release party will feature Batman, Spiderman and others for book signings and stickers. Books will also be featured during April's 2nd Friday Wonderlandza Egg-stravaganza event on April 8 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Gold Sponsors of the sticker book include The Tatted Toy Guys, Charlamay's Trinkets and Treasures, The Candy Unicornium, The Elizabethtown Police Department, Natural Creations Salon, Bowers Writers House at Elizabethtown College, Now Wear This, Funk Brewing, Hackman SmartRoof, Fulton Bank, Kiwanis Club of Elizabethtown, and Ryan Reed and Tyler Smith with Realty ONE Group Unlimited.

"In my opinion, if you love stickers, collecting, (and) the events going on in Elizabethtown and support these events, this is a fun, interactive souvenir that you'll be able to look back on at all the fun you had," said Clint Gibble, a member of LIV-ETown. "Also, at the end of the year, there will be a special prize for all participants for how many stickers collected as well as a grand-prize drawing."
