Easter is a big deal at Wrightsville Assembly of God, and this year, the festivities are even bigger. "We have outgrown our space at the church, so we are taking all of our Easter efforts ... up to Eastern York High School," shared lead pastor Aaron McNatt.

The activities will include EggFest, which will be held on Saturday, April 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. "This is our 10th consecutive year hosting a community event on Easter weekend," McNatt said. "Typically, we've hosted a traditional egg hunt on the church property with about 1,000 guests in attendance. This year, we are taking it to the next level." EggFest will be held in the stadium parking lot at the high school, 720 Cool Creek Road, Wrightsville. "Guests can come and go during the timeframe," McNatt explained. "Rather than a starting line and a mad dash for eggs, upon arrival, kids will receive a map at the registration table. The map will indicate where they can find the eggs dispersed throughout the event. Every kid is guaranteed to get a basketful of eggs at this hunt."

Along with the egg hunt, EggFest will feature a variety of food trucks, including Cafe 301, serving chicken and waffles; Joe's Fish Sandwiches; Tri-County Barbecue Catering Inc.; and Kona Ice, serving shaved ice. Several inflatables will be available as well, including an atomic slide, a bounce house and an inflatable ax-throwing station. "For the little bunnies, we have a special adventure area designed for kids 4 years and under," McNatt shared. "There is also a sensory and craft area, face painting, a petting zoo, photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny and a flower farm where kids can make a bouquet for mom." Except for the food trucks, all activities are free of charge.

"We have also been reaching out to several local businesses and organizations to partner with us on this event," McNatt stated. The Nathan Krotzer Team from RE/MAX in Wrightsville will sponsor one of the inflatables. The Wild Batch Bistro will host a cookie decorating station, and both the Hellam and Lower Windsor Township Police departments will have a booth. Members of the Eastern York Middle School PTO will distribute free tickets for a giveaway drawing to see show basketball team the Harlem Wizards at Eastern York High School on Saturday, April 22.

Families are invited to return to Eastern York High School on Sunday, April 9, for an Easter service at 10 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) at the school. "Last year, our church hosted four separate services on Easter Sunday, and while our volunteers are always up to the challenge, we really wanted to find a way to bring everyone together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus this year," McNatt commented. An offering will be collected for Convoy of Hope, the church's ministry partner, which provides humanitarian relief around the world. Along with the main service, nursery, preschool and kindergarten through sixth-grade classrooms will be set up near the PAC for an Easter service designed specifically for kids.
