Celtic music trio plans concert

The Celtic music trio Fire in the Glen will perform on Sunday, March 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Eicher Arts Center, 409 Cocalico St., in Ephrata Borough's Grater Park.

Fire in the Glen's repertoire of traditional music from Ireland, Scotland and the Canadian Maritimes includes fiddle tunes, pub songs, airs and ballads. Tom Knapp, the group's founder, sings backing vocals and plays the bodhran and fiddle. He was born in Lancaster County and now lives in York County. Amanda Wells is on vocals, guitar and percussion, and Rod Nevin is on vocals, Highland bagpipe, Scottish smallpipe, pennywhistle and ukulele. Among the many places Fire in the Glen has performed in the past 24 years are the Celtic Fling in Mount Hope and the Festival Club at Cape Breton's Celtic Colours International Festival.

The show will be the first of the 2023 series of Sunday afternoon entertainment events at the Eicher Center; admission to these events is free. Donations to the nonprofit Eicher Arts Center Inc. will be accepted.
