Each year, the Octorara Area Education Association (OAEA) hosts a Charitably Casual event to raise money for the Octorara Area Food Cupboard. Faculty and staff of the Octorara Area School District give monetary donations to OAEA in late November, and then the money is delivered to the food cupboard during the first week of December.

In exchange for donating money, participants enjoy the luxury of wearing jeans to work every day during the week leading up to Thanksgiving break in November, as well as the week leading up to winter break in December.

This year, the faculty and staff of the Primary Learning Center raised $735, the Elementary School and the Intermediate School each raised over $300, and the Junior-Senior High School raised $700. A grand total of $2,100 was donated to the food cupboard.
