Children's Aid Society Plans Auction

The 30th annual benefit auction for Children's Aid Society - The Lehman Center has been announced. The event, traditionally held at the York County 4-H Center, was rescheduled and will be hosted virtually.

A preview of items available in the auction will be held on Monday, June 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1873 New Fairview Church Road, York. Auction items will be sold starting at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, and bidding will conclude on Tuesday, June 29, at 9 p.m. Auction items include sports memorabilia, merchandise from area businesses, and gift certificates to local restaurants, hotels, department stores, and other locations.

Since its beginning in 1992, the Lehman Center Auxiliary's auction has raised a total of over $1 million for children and families served by the Lehman Center in York County. This volunteer-run event benefits children and families through several programs, including a 24-hour crisis nursery that provides emergency, temporary respite care for children birth through age 6; creative art therapy; family advocacy services; parent support groups; and a 24-hour emergency hotline. The Lehman Center's goals include identifying and reducing child abuse and building stronger, healthier parent-child relationships.
