Christmas At Kraybill Planned

The fourth annual Christmas at Kraybill Craft Fair and Celebration has been set for Saturday, Nov. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kraybill Mennonite School, 598 Kraybill Church Road, Mount Joy.

The event will feature approximately 40 local artisans, crafters, and vendors, many selling handmade items. Among the goods for sale will be hand-turned wooden bowls and other woodcarved items, jewelry, quilts, ornaments, home decor, local honey, and children's toys and books.

Some highlights of the annual event include wagon rides provided by the Granville Farms Clydesdales and gingerbread cookie kits containing individually wrapped gingerbread cookies with icing and assorted candies for decorating.

New this year will be a brisket and chili cook-off, for which Gene Wenger's Meats and Fine Foods in Elizabethtown has donated 100 pounds of brisket. Attendees can purchase tasting tickets at the event and vote for the cook-off winners. Tastings will conclude at 1 p.m. so that the winners can be announced.

The craft fair is designed to support local artisans and crafters while raising funds for special programs at Kraybill. Funds raised will be used to provide supplies for Kraybill's new greenhouse and to offset the cost of the school's eighth-grade trip.
