Christmas Concerts Planned At Ware Center

The Arts at Millersville University has announced two upcoming Christmas events.

Club 42 will present "Christmas With Champian Fulton Trio" on Saturday, Dec. 11, in the third-floor atrium at the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince St., Lancaster. Doors will open at 7 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. show. Club 42 is offers club-style seating and a cash bar. Fulton first performed on the Club 42 stage to a sold-out audience in 2017.

Born in Oklahoma, jazz singer, and pianist Champian Fulton is a mainstay on the New York jazz scene and has performed with Lou Donaldson, Frank Wess, Scott Hamilton, Buster Williams, and Louis Hayes, as well as internationally. Her most recent album is the 2020 release "Birdsong," celebrating the music of Charlie Parker. Inspired by Clark Terry, Fulton is also committed to jazz education and is involved in programs such as Litchfield Jazz Camp and Rutgers Jazz Institute.

Also this holiday season, the ninth "Irish Christmas in America" will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Steinman Hall at the Ware Center. Produced by Sligo fiddler Oisín Mac Diarmada, the event will feature Irish music, song, and dance. The 2021 tour features special guest singer Niamh Farrell, a Sligo vocalist who has toured with U.K. singer-songwriter David Gray, along with legendary West Kerry singer Seamus Begley. This family-friendly performance features lively instrumental tunes on fiddle, flute, uilleann pipes, and harp, along with Irish old-style dancing from Samantha Harvey. In addition, photographic images provide a backdrop to some of the rich historical traditions of Ireland.

The Arts at Millersville's slate of holiday shows also includes "Home for the Holidays" on Friday, Dec. 17, in Clair Hall at the Winter Center. The event will feature singer Jackie Evancho, who has performed on "America's Got Talent." Tickets and details can be found at http://www.ArtsMU.com.
