Christmas Fun For Everyone

When Brittany's Hope hosts the eighth annual Christmas at The Star Barn Village on Saturday, Dec. 3, guests can expect a little bit more of everything. "Everything is going to be bigger and better than ever this year," said Dana Myers, director of charitable giving for Brittany's Hope. "We have some new games and crafts. We'll have lots of outdoor music. There is going to be a lot of family fun."

VIP admission to the event will run from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and general admission will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Stone Gables Estate, 1 Hollinger Lane, Elizabethtown.

"This is a fundraiser for Brittany's Hope, but it's also about bringing the Christmas spirit to everyone," Myers stated. "It's a great family tradition."

Festivities will include outdoor reindeer games, a dance party, letters to Santa, interaction with characters from The Enchanted Teapot, cookies and hot chocolate, pony rides, face painting and a visit from Santa. VIP admission also includes breakfast and a family portrait.

Myers noted that visitors to Christmas at The Star Barn Village can also just stroll the grounds for a self-guided tour, enjoying the scenery. "It's a beautifully decorated property," she shared. "It's like walking into a Christmas wonderland."

The event is made possible through the support of Stone Gables Estate and Food for Thought Catering, as well as presenting sponsors Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster and Abel & Son Roofing & Siding. Proceeds will benefit Brittany's Hope, which provides support for orphaned and at-risk children through international special needs adoption grants and humanitarian initiatives. "Life-changing things are happening with Brittany's Hope," Myers commented. "There are so many wonderful stories we hear every day of how the lives of these kids are changing. One hundred percent of everything we raise goes directly to the kids. We have no administrative costs thanks to our corporate sponsors."

Anyone who comes to Christmas at The Star Barn Village is helping to make a difference, Myers said, while also enjoying a fun day out. "If you're busy and overwhelmed with the materialism of Christmas, you walk in here and you just feel joy," she stated. "It's a great way to start a new family tradition if you haven't been here before. It's a heartwarming day, and it kicks off the holidays, so those happy feelings don't stop all through the Christmas season."
