Evangelical United Methodist Church in Middletown raised more than $1,000 for the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area at its chicken Parmesan fundraising meal.

Church members delivered the monetary donation, as well as dog and cat food and pet supplies, to the Humane Society on June 22. While there, the group was given a tour. The activity was the culmination of the church's vacation Bible school (VBS).

Church participants included Brayden Bryson; Mike Harris; Elise Grizzle; Jordan, Justina, Kaydan and Randall Behrens; Erich Schlicher; Harper and Bailee Romozi; Maxwell Thomas; and Bobbi Jo, Kemp and Kara Miller.
