Church of the Apostles sets concerts

The Apostles Academy of Arts and Sciences at Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ (UCC), 1850 Marietta Ave., Lancaster (Rohrerstown), will present a series of concerts. The events will be held in the sanctuary, and a freewill offering will be received in lieu of tickets.

Multimedia artist and storyteller Bill Hager and his troupe will return to Church of the Apostles on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. to premiere two tales. Hager will tell the stories of "Medusa and the Pearl of Poseidon" and "Bridgid O'Callahan and the Turquoise Prince" and then talk about the behind-the-scenes process that went into the creation of both the oral and photographic stories.

Mountain dulcimerist Dave Haas will perform a program of dulcimer music on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 3 p.m. Haas is a dulcimer instructor and jam leader at music festivals in the U.S. and abroad, and he has published numerous instructional materials for the instrument.

Former Church of the Apostles handbell director Ron Bellamy and the Philadelphia Handbell Ensemble, which he currently directs, will perform a Christmas program on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m. The ensemble consists of advanced-level bell ringers from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
