Church Plans Advent Gatherings

The Veritas Community will host Advent worship gatherings each Sunday morning, starting on Nov. 28, at 10:30 a.m. on the second floor of HUB 450, 450 N. Prince St.

This year's Advent theme is "A 3-Dimensional Advent," which centers on the idea that Jesus lived a three-dimensional life through relationships with His Heavenly Father, His disciples, and the world. During Advent, members of Veritas will explore and seek to practice this 3D life in the midst of the holiday season.

On Nov. 28, participants will focus on their relationship with the world through an Advent candle lighting and reading; praying for the church's Advent offering partners, Eastern Mennonite Missions, and HUB 450; and collecting various materials for HUB 450's after-school tutoring program. The items needed are individual dry erase boards, black dry erase markers, pens, pencils, erasers, notebook paper, manila file folders, and permanent markers.

On Dec. 5 and 19, participants will focus on their relationships with other believers. The gatherings will include a meal, an Advent candle lighting and reading, prayer, and Scripture exploration. Attendees are encouraged to bring food and drinks to share during the meal.

Participants will explore their relationship with God on Dec. 12. There will be an Advent candle lighting and reading, musical worship, prayer, a message, and small group discussion groups.
