Church plans community festival

Christ Church Yorkana, 5 Main St., will host its annual Community Family Fun Day on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 3 to 8 p.m. People of all ages are invited, and all activities are free unless otherwise noted.

Under the main tent, the church will offer bingo from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 6 to 7 p.m. From 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., attendees may enjoy live music from the Christ Church praise team, including selections by We the Kingdom, Ghost Ship, FFH, the Modern Post, Rend Collective, and others. Desserts made by Christ Church's bakers will be auctioned off at 5:30 p.m.

Pony rides and grooming will be available near the playground from 3 to 5 p.m., and Charming Balloons will offer custom balloon sculptures from 5 to 7 p.m. Hay rides will also be a part of the event.

People may decorate cupcakes inside the social hall starting from 4 p.m. until supplies run out. There is a fee.

A bounce house and a wrecking ball inflatable will be part of the festivities this year. Attendees may earn tickets for prizes at the carnival games from 3 to 6 p.m., with open play until 8 p.m. Homemade food will be available for purchase.
