Church Plans Drive-Through Fish Fry

Seven Sorrows Catholic Church in Middletown will hold its annual fish fry in drive-through fashion beginning on Friday, Feb. 19, and continuing weekly through March 26. The event will run from 5 to 8 p.m. at 360 E. Water St., Middletown, and the school campus lot will only be accessible after 4:30 p.m.

The streamlined menu includes fish and chips, baked haddock, fried shrimp, pierogies, macaroni and cheese, fish sandwiches, coleslaw, and vegetables. Three desserts will be available: chocolate cake with peanut butter icing, chocolate fudge cake, and lemon berry mascarpone cake. The menu is subject to change.

No call-in orders may be placed. All orders are first-come, first-served. Cash, checks, and major credit cards will be accepted for payment.

Handmade chocolate eggs will also be available for a nominal fee per egg. Varieties will be peanut butter milk chocolate, peanut butter dark chocolate, coconut dark chocolate, and butter cream milk chocolate.

The fish fry is sponsored by Seven Sorrows Parish. For more than 20 years, the parish has been serving people who come from throughout southcentral Pennsylvania to enjoy the meatless meals. In 2019, more than 5,000 pounds of haddock, 700 crab cakes, and 180 pounds of macaroni and cheese were served to more than 7,300 guests by at least 100 volunteers each week.
