Church Plans Trunk Or Treat, Concert

St. Edward's Episcopal Church, 2453 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, will host a community Trunk or Treat and a concert.

The Trunk or Treat will occur on Friday, Oct. 28, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the church parking lot. In addition to trick-or-treating, the event will include refreshments and games.

The quartet valleyphonics will perform at the church on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 4 p.m. The diverse musical program will range from Bach to Broadway.

The members of valleyphonics are Bob Mains on clarinet and vocals; Linda Mains, piano and harp; Allison Smith, flute; and Larry Sweger, bassoon, clarinet, and piano. Linda was musical director for numerous community theater productions over the years, and Bob co-created the Northeasters Barbershop Chorus, which he directed for 35 years; they have also served as interim music directors at Donegal Presbyterian Church. Smith has been very active playing in local churches, the Central Schwenkfelder Brass Wind ensemble and the Pottsgrove Community Band. Sweger has performed with the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, Harrisburg Community Theatre and Harrisburg Concert Band. Collectively, the four have taught for 128 years in Pennsylvania public schools.

Admission is free, and an offering will be received.
