Christ United Methodist Church (CUMC), 5 Main St., Yorkana, will host its annual Community Family Fun Day on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 3 to 8 p.m., rain or shine. The church offers the event in the spirit of loving its neighbors and giving back to the community.

Homemade food will be available for purchase. Options will be pork barbecue, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken corn soup, french fries, corn on the cob, baked goods, walking tacos, fruit cups, snow cones and ice cream.

A variety of activities will be available, and activities are free unless otherwise noted.

Activities for children and teens will include cupcake decorating, carnival games and Old-Fashioned Games by Darlene. For children, the event will also provide pony rides and pony grooming from 3 to 5 p.m., balloons from Charming Balloons from 5 to 7 p.m., a bounce house, tractor rides, giant bubbles, a catapult craft and a sensory bin. Teens will also have access to a wrecking ball inflatable, 9 Square in the Air and gaga ball. A dunk tank will be available for a fee. Adults may also bid in a cake auction and browse items from craft vendors.

A cornhole tournament will be offered for teens and adults, and registration before Aug. 20 is required at https://cumcy.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/1385425. There is a fee to participate.

People of all ages may participate in a decorated dessert contest. For details on how to enter the contest, search for "Christ United Methodist Church Yorkana" on Facebook and look in the events section. There is a fee to compete.

Activities under the big tent will include bingo, a hymn sing, an appearance by Kerry White and music by the CUMC Trio and the CUMC Praise Team.
