Church posts vacation Bible school

St. Luke's United Church of Christ, 222 N. Broad St., Lititz, will hold its annual vacation Bible school (VBS) from Sunday, July 23, through Thursday, July 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. VBS is open for children age 4 through students entering sixth grade in the fall. The theme of the VBS this year is "Food Truck Party - On a Roll With God."

There will be crafts, games, a Bible story, music and snacks each night. As the theme of the VBS is food-related, each participant will be asked to bring a nonperishable food item such as peanut butter, macaroni or a canned good every night of VBS. All of the collected items will be donated to a local food bank.

On July 27, St. Luke's will host an outdoor picnic at 5 p.m., weather permitting. In the case of inclement weather, the picnic will be moved indoors. St. Luke's will serve hot dogs; all attendees are asked to bring a side dish. A food truck will be on hand serving ice cream.

The young people will perform a brief program after the picnic to show their families and friends what they learned at VBS. A freewill offering will be received for a local charity.

For more details or to register a young person for VBS, call the church office at 717-626-7100 or visit http://www.stlukesucc.com. Children may also be registered on July 23 at 6 p.m.
