Church raises funds for transitional housing facility

Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church (ECC) of Manheim has been participating in the First Thursday events in Manheim this year. The church's members and friends set up a canopy in the square, where they offer hot dogs for a nominal fee and children's games.

During the July event, Trinity accepted donations, and all hot dog proceeds were slated to go toward Home on Ferdinand in Manheim. Trinity ECC was able to present a $500 check to Home on Ferdinand. This transitional housing facility hosts women and their children who are facing homelessness. Women at the home can receive support specific to them and their needs, including accountability, budget counseling, clothing and other necessities, and community connections.

The church will continue its First Thursday hot dog sales throughout the remaining summer and fall months. A community need or ministry will be supported each month.

Trinity ECC holds a worship service on Sundays at 10:25 a.m. at 48 Market Square, Manheim. For more information and to watch the livestream on Sundays or view past sermons, visit http://www.trinitymanheim.com.
