Church service to highlight hymm writer

The life and legacy of the prolific blind hymn writer Fanny Crosby will be the theme of the 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Stevens Hill Community Church of the Brethren, located at 3131 Turnpike Road, Elizabethtown.

Bob Kettering, interim pastor of the church, will lead congregational singing and provide the background for several of the more than 8,000 well-known hymns that were written by Crosby. Audrey Estep, chaplain at Pleasant View Retirement Community in Manheim, will portray Fanny Crosby and share her life story.
