Church Slates New Programs

All Saints Episcopal Church, 310 Elm Ave., Hershey, will offer several new educational programs this fall for children and adults. The programs will be available both in person and online.

Beginning Sunday, Sept. 18, at 10 a.m. and continuing on the first and third Sundays thereafter, Godly Play will be offered to children ages 2 to 7. Godly Play incorporates principles of Montessori education theory. Children will encounter the Bible in ways that are intended to engage their imaginations during the first part of worship and will rejoin worship for Holy Communion.

Beginning Thursday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m., the Rev. Anjel Scarborough will lead a book study and discussion via Zoom of "Let's Talk: A Rabbi Speaks to Christians" by Rabbi Michael Harvey. The purpose of the book is to help build bridges of understanding between Christians and Jews, clear up misconceptions, and deepen Christian understanding of Jesus of Nazareth's Jewish heritage. Harvey is planning a guest appearance later in the study.

On Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m., the Wednesday Book Study will begin its fall program featuring the book "Bible Women: All Their Words and Why They Matter" by the Rev. Lindsay Harden Freeman. This book identifies every woman who speaks in the Bible, providing their words, context, and historical background.
