Church to dish up chicken corn soup

St. John's Episcopal Church, 239 E. Market St., Marietta, has announced that its homemade chicken corn soup sale has returned this fall. Featuring fresh cut corn and other ingredients, the soup will be made and sold at the church on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. or until sold out.

Members of the church will make the soup, which will be for sale by the quart. Containers will be provided.

To place an order, call the church office at 717-426-3189.

Proceeds from the sale will go to the "Tools for School" program that St. John's congregation participates in each fall to help prepare local students for the upcoming school year. Members of St. John's collect clothing and toiletry articles that the students may need for the upcoming school year as well as snacks and food items they can use for their lunches.
