Church To Host Festival

Trinity Lutheran Church of Colebrook, 58 Church Road, Manheim, will host Nickolas Sieber's Traditional Jazz & Ragtime Festival on Saturday, Aug. 23. Attendees of the event will enjoy a living history experience highlighting music of the American songbook from the 1890s through 1930.

Sieber's festival will include performances from Miss Maybell and Charlie Judkins, a duo from New York City; Ramona Baker, a pianist from New York City; Gavin Rice, a banjoist from Rochester, N.Y.; and the Blackbird Society Orchestra from Philadelphia. In addition to music, professional dancers Roddy Caravella and Gretchen Fenston will lead a 1920s dance lesson of the Peabody. A social dance of foxtrots, tangos, swing, and more will run throughout the course of the festival.

The festival will also include a 1920s lawn party with pre-war car rides, a croquet tournament, fashion displays, and special guest R.W. Tintypes offering authentic 19th-century tintype photography portrait sittings. Trinity Lutheran Church of Colebrook will prepare food that will be available for purchase throughout the day.
