Church to offer train excursion

Bainbridge Church of God will present a Fall Foliage on the Frostburg Flyer trip on Saturday, Oct. 18.

The trip will depart via motorcoach from the church, 7 N. Second St., Bainbridge, at 7:30 a.m. After a stop for food on the way, the group will arrive at the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad at 11 a.m. and board the Frostburg Flyer steam engine for an 11:30 a.m. departure. The journey will take attendees through the Allegheny Mountains to Frostburg, with sights including creeks and streams, bridges, and the 916-foot Brush Tunnel.

The group will have a 90-minute layover in Frostburg, with free shuttle service to shops, cafes, and restaurants. The engine will then make a return journey to the station, arriving at approximately 4 p.m. Attendees will return to Bainbridge at about 8:15 p.m.

There is a cost to attend, with a discount for children under age 12. The fee includes transportation, the train excursion, and taxes; driver gratuity is not included. Seating is limited, and those who plan to attend should check availability before sending their payment.
