A busload of 31 members from Christ Church United Church of Christ (UCC) in Elizabethtown traveled to Philadelphia recently to volunteer with Cradles to Crayons, a nonprofit organization that provides resources, including school supplies and clothing, to low-income children. This trip was the church's third to Cradles to Crayons.

The adult and youth volunteers spent hours sorting and selecting clothing for the children. Three multi-generational families participated, with young siblings working alongside parents and grandparents.

Christ Church UCC has carried out various mission projects, ranging from short trips to weeklong trips. The church offers single-day projects and trips with relatively short travel times so it is easy for people to participate. The church's efforts did not cease during the pandemic, as members performed outdoor work at Wittel Farm.
